Built by a Runner Who Was Tired of Waking up Exhausted

In 2022, after 10 years off running through injury, Alex re-taught himself to run from the ground up.

Pushing the limits of Endurance he discovered that Prioritising Recovery was the key to being able to run further and faster.

Tired of researching and using supplements designed by weightlifters he decided to create Rest & Rise.

Can my HRV from my sports watch indicate my energy levels?

Yes! HRV (Heart Rate Variability) and sports watch data can give clear objective signs that your energy levels (and ATP production) might be low. Here’s what to look for:

📉 Lower HRV than your baseline – A consistently lower-than-usual HRV (especially upon waking) suggests poor recovery and high physiological stress—your body is struggling to replenish energy.

📊 Increased resting heart rate (RHR) – If your RHR is higher than normal, your body may be working harder to compensate for fatigue and low cellular energy.

🏃‍♂️ Declining pace or power output at the same effort level – If you’re slower at the same heart rate or can’t sustain your usual power, your ATP reserves may be depleted.

Longer recovery times post-workout – If your HRV takes longer to rebound after hard sessions, your mitochondria (your energy factories) may not be keeping up.
